Clothes Dryer Vent Cleaning

According to the National Fire Protection Association, there are 15,500 U.S. home fires in 2010 related to clothes dryer. Over time lint that slips through your lint trap accumulates in your dryer vent reducing air flow, backing up exhaust gases and eventually creating a fire. If you noticed that your clothes are taking longer to dry, your dryer and your clothes are very hot, smell something is burning and your vent hood flap not opening properly, it may be time for dryer vent cleaning. Ideally dryer vents need to be cleaned once a year.

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Prevent dryer fires by taking these steps today!

Remove lint build up in your dryer and venting.

We clean your dryer and vents using high pressure air or rotating brush scouring lint from vent walls

Replace vinyl or dirty dryer duct with aluminum duct.

Vinyl is a flammable material and must not be used for dryer vent applications. We recommend, carry and can install the DRYERFLEX. It is fire rated (prevents flame spread), flexible (easy to install) and crush resistant (maintains air flow for more efficient venting, saving energy and extending dryer life).

Check the outside termination hood for any obstruction (like bird’s nest) and its condition.

Check the outside termination hood for any obstruction (like bird’s nest) and its condition.

Dryer wall vents must have a backdraft damper and not include any sort of screen or mesh that can promote lint build-up eventually clogging the termination completely.

Inspect and clean regularly to maintain proper airflow.

To take the guesswork out of knowing if you have a blocked or obstructed dryer vents, we recommend, carry and can install the LINTALERT system. It protects your home and your family by continually monitoring air flow which can change over time due to lint build-up, crushed hoses, damaged vent hoods and – surprisingly often – animal nests.

As a form of community service and fire prevention, every time you order a carpet or duct cleaning, we will give you a complementary dryer vent inspection using our inspection camera.
